Abstract:   (9 Views)
The rapid growth of energy demand, environmental concerns, and the limitation of fossil resources have made the development of smart power systems based on new energies one of the main axes of research and industry. In the meantime, integrated electronic circuits, as the foundation of monitoring, control, communication, protection, and energy management technologies, play a key role in realizing the intelligent, sustainable, and reliable operation of these systems. This article reviews the role of integrated electronic circuits in the development of smart power systems based on renewable energy sources. First, the basic concepts related to smart power systems, new energies, and integrated electronic circuits are introduced. Then, the application of these circuits in power converters, smart metering systems, protection equipment, energy storage devices, communication infrastructures, and power control and management systems is analyzed. Technical challenges including losses, reliability, electromagnetic noise, cost, cybersecurity, and scalability are also examined, and future trends such as low-power integrated circuits, AI-based smart chips, silicon carbide (SiC) and gallium nitride (GaN) technologies, and integrated energy internet systems are discussed. The results of this study show that electronic integrated circuits not only increase the efficiency, flexibility, and reliability of smart grids, but also provide a major platform for the wider integration of new energies into future power systems.
Keywords: New energies, smart power systems, smart grid, power electronics, integrated electronic circuits, energy management
